At last, my hard work and determination have paid off. I felt exhilarated when my manuscript, Daring the Headmaster, was taken into account for publication, and now that the publishers are prepared to print, I feel overwhelmed. Nonetheless, the path was not simple; it involved writing, editing, and securing a publisher. I completed about four or five drafts- a taxing experience- before I felt confident that the manuscript was ready for consideration. I extend my gratitude to my Book Editor, Ms. Boitumelo Maduna, for her commitment, patience, and professionalism. It’s important to remember that Book Editors are people capable of making mistakes. Her process was not without challenges; we had our disagreements over certain elements of the literature, but we managed to overcome them. We dedicated countless hours, days, weeks, and months discussing the necessary changes she suggested, all without rewriting the manuscript.
